Or are new Souls actually being listed at 30-40% off MSRP now ?

I have no doubt there is a massive catch, much like a few years ago when I contacted a few VW dealers about great GTI prices and they were advertising prices that included every possible incentive tacked on that nobody would qualify for.

Thats what I figured.
Just waiting for the floor to fall out of the market over here, everyone is saying its right around the corner.

* Are you a veteran and c urrently own a VW and c urrently own a competitors car and have a perfect credit score and have 3 children and have blue eyes and only have 9 fingers? If not you don’t qualify for this price

Yeah being how most Kia dealers are ultra greasy I’m sure this is just the price with every rebate included that no one could actually qualify for. It’s very annoying.
You might be waiting a while for the floor to fall..we’ve been selling both new & used like crazy the past week after getting reopened.

The price applies if you’re a recent college graduate, who’s also active duty military, and are both simultaneously a loyal Kia owner and a conquest customer from a competing brand, and the price is only valid for the specific VIN, not any other Souls in stock of the same trim level.

IIRC Hyundai/Kia has an absurdly huge inventory of 2020 models just sitting in ports since they didn’t wind everything down in time for the COVID-19 shutdowns and car sales evaporating. They’re trying to move as many cars as quickly as possible since if they won’t have room for new cars once everything returns to normal. It’s basically a big clog in the distribution network.

No lie - I remember three of them were: recent college grad, recent high school grad and active military. Good luck meeting those three at the same time.

You forgot bring a recent collage grad, A+ highschool student, and active duty coast guard, who has lived in the state of Montana for 5 or more years.

And that particular Soul has been sitting outside for 7 months.

Small world. I was just looking at this dealership’s VW inventory.

No it’s Kia weirdness. Keep in mind I got my Forte for $10K CDN with the MSRP being $18K
No fucking around, just went in and paid.

If it’s not BS, then it looks like an amazing deal.

I’ve inspected a ton of dealerships in the last year and a half and Kia were the only folks who spent my entire inspection actively trying to sell me a car.

I was wondering if the rise in the
US dollar vs Korean Won
during the
crisis
was allowing
Korean carmakers
to push big
incentives because they’d still cover
the
cost of manufacturing
but the max fluctuation
over the last year only seems to be ~10%. A handy boost for sure but not a massive delta, maybe combine that with them having too much inventory coming off the boats and the rental market selling it's Soul(s) but it still seems fishy.
