These blonde morels were found by my mom today and there is a nice patch up in the woods near our house. Morels are very easy to identify and have a distinct flavorful mushroomy taste.

Nice. A friend of mine found a bagful of morels a few weeks ago, and as he was the only one in his house who loves mushrooms, and I’m the only one in mine, he gave me half of them.
I’m sure you know to slice em in half, since lots of critters like to hide out in those hollow stems...

Those tend to grow in cow pies.

Or my friends basement in Honolulu. I once climbed into a tree on shrooms and couldn’t get down because it was moving a lot.

interesting - so morels grow now? I seem to see most mushrooms grow in early fall after the first few rains. I do enjoy a good shroom omlette....

I’ve always hated mushrooms. Then recently I turned a corner and started to eat them here and there.

I have reverted back to a non-mushroom eating state.

I was unsuccessful finding morrells yet again. I don't think many people found any around here since it went from cold and dry to hot a humid too quickly. No wet and mild phase and I've read they're very particular about soil temps.

It has been cool and wet here so I think the mushrooms are loving life.

When I first saw the header image, I thought you were about to introduce me to some crazy new kind of ice cream! Still cool, but slightly less cool than what was in my brai n.
