A 1967 Rolls Royce with a flame job, leopard interior, and (presumably fake) side pipes is something I never knew I wanted in my life until now... But while $25,000 is cheap by Ro lls Royce standards, it’s not quite cheap enough, you know?
Here’s a 1947 Silver Wraith for $22,750. It’s got a divisional window and wood trim and everything! It looks like either a survivor or an older restoration since it’s for the most part very nice, but the paint on the fenders appears to have seen better days. On the plus side, that means you could probably just drive it and enjoy it without worrying too much about keeping it nice.
Or a 1960 Silver Cloud II for $17,500... They claim the body on this one is as straight and rust-free as you could possibly want, though a few other bits here and there may need some work. Particularly those wheels. They just look out of place, and not in a good way.
Or this 1957 Silver Wraith for $9,500 that’s... um... missing a few things. The ad says it comes with a few miscellaneous parts, and I WOULD CERTAINLY HOPE SO. Other than that, they say it should be a good restoration candidate.
And finally, the cheapest one I could find, a ‘79 Silver Shadow for $6,500. Salvage title. Bad vinyl roof. But a Rolls nonetheless. I want to Safari it.
That is all.

That 47 seems like an excellent value considering its age

I know... I’m shocked by how expensive it isn’t. I really want it, but I don’t have 22k to spend... sigh.

I see BHCC pics. Always amusing, those ones must be some of their nicer cars,
I knew a guy who had a 67 Shadow, black on red, hydraulics completely rebuilt before he got it, everything functioning perfectly, in very nice cosmetic condition and extremely original, with full documented history . He listed it for 15K, no bites, I think he ended up selling closer to 10-12K.
These cars are stupid expensive to restore, always buy someone else’s finished project, I fear there’s minimal DIY potential in these.

I started looking into these after pondering the possibility of a safari/overland Rolls Royce or Bentley... Some of these cheaper ones may not be worth restoring, but they’re solid enough that you could still have some fun with modding them!
Not the flamey one, though. That one I’d be happy to just enjoy as-is. And the ‘47 seems to nice to butcher...

That 57 Wraith, already a mess, might be the candidate. Probably never going to be saved in stock form. Many Clouds are in the same boat.
A Shadow might be best - so many of them are wasting away broken forever, no harm done in giving one a new life, even if it isn’t stock. Nobody is ever going to restore them, and they can be super cheap to buy, I’ve seen them for a few grand .

That $600 Wraith II was gone in under 12 hours. I had zero intent to keep it pristine or pay out the nose for RR parts.

The first one only needs one thing to be perfect.
The ‘47 is amazing and the only one I’d seriously consider.

YES. So much yes.
I’m not sure whether I’d rather have the ‘67 or the ‘47... The ‘67 is awesome and ridiculous in all the right ways, whereas the ‘47 is beautiful and elegant out the wazoo and would allow me to live out my adventurous professor-y fantasies.
Basically, the silly side of me loves the ‘67, and the side of me that has taste likes the ‘47. I’d probably go with the ‘47 if I had the money though, because it’s just too good.

My silly side has me really into T-buckets.
I came across this one recently and can’t close the browser window even though I can’t afford it. I have a soft spot for the 348/409 power plant too.

I like T-buckets as well. The nose on that one kinda just looks like a fish mouth, though...

Came here to make a BHCC comment. Beat me to it. Does anyone actually have experience with them?

I like the speedster style nose. I would want to change the light mount style though.

A Rolls-Royce with flames is.. it’s like if Pat Boone started doing metal songs.
oh wait, that happened:

Like this with 1000% more flames.

It would have to be a big block. For the bass + whistle.

I am perfectly fine with this. I would want to add functional side pipes as well.

Indeed. For opulence, 4 si depipes, two per side.

Not me, aside from wondering from which lake they source their cars.

The ‘47 is gorgeous. I wonder if it would even be feasible, if you didn’t get caught up in the usual Rolls-Royce restoration practice of a six figure paint job and chrome plating every nut and bolt, and just focused on keeping it reasonably presentable and roadworthy.
