I’ve been noticing all the other GTIs with their shiny exhausts lately. Last time I cleaned mine was never. Really don’t know why, it took 5 minutes in the garage.
Quite a contrast.

hell yes! Barkeeper’s Friend is the stuff I use, the powder. Works like a charm with a little elbow grease.

Looking good. Often ignored but sets off the look.

Just did mine too. But tell me the 5min approach, b/c mine is like degreaser, steel wool, metal polish and buff, which takes a whooole lot longer than 5min.

Put on gloves, spray with wheel cleaner, let sit for a minute, rub with aluminum foil, rinse. 5 minutes for both, and those had 15k of carbon on them.

One of the many things that I adore about my GTI.

It’s been a while since I’ve cleaned mine. It’s probably all caked on now, really should get in the habit of cleaning it like once a month

Be like me and make it an annual thing. Then it’s really dramatic.
