Previously, I upgraded the cargo light in the Crosstrek to an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . As nice of an improvement that was, I wanted more. Enter, the Rear Hatch Light:
Basically, this JDM Subaru kit integrates LED lights into the trim pieces of the rear hatch for a seamless look. the kit includes the two upright trim pieces for the hatch and a wiring harness. The install wasn’t terrible, but I did not enjoy running the wiring harness. Now, for a before/after comparison:
The cargo area is certainly a lot brighter. The hatch lights fill in the dark areas left by the factory side-mounted cargo light, and also illuminate the threshold. Now, is this worth the purchase price? Arguably, no, but I couldn’t be happier. This is something that I wanted to do with my SH Forester, but never did. I can finally check it off my list.

I love the LEDs on my new car so far. The headlights do some sort of dance when the car starts. The accent lighting on the doors (a long stripe) is cool, too.

This kit fits both the 2018+ Crosstrek and 2017+ Impreza 5 door. I believe Subispeed has them, I bought mine from JapanParts.
