As found during my weekend “maybe I’ll sell my truck and replace it with an El Camino/Ranchero search.

So he has it listed for sale now, but he won’t let anyone look at it till July 15? I’m looking even less seriously than normal right now because the BMV being closed would make buying/selling a vehicle privately a nuisance, but listing this with no intention of selling for 2 months just seems odd.

Maybe hes just nervous about the COVID. Im mad I had to turn down 2 potential Volvo buyers this weekend because of my appendicitis.

I can completely understand being hesitant to meet complete strangers to sell anything right now. I just can’t see listing it for sale now knowing I won’t be selling it till then.

I know Craigslist ads used to expire after 45 days. If that’s still the case that means he payed to list the car and the ad will expire before he’s ready to sell it.

Price seems pretty high to me. And I have no idea what a 440 Truro Trans is? I don’t know what “interior new original” means either. No engine pics so we can’t see if it’s really a 350 or just the stock 305.

And apparently this guy knows something about when this virus stuff will be all cleared up. July 15th, here we come!

It is something that I am seriously considering doing. The issue is that it would require me also to replace my Volt as well. That’s not a big deal because we’re considering replacing that as well. In addition to me having a pretty short commute now my state has drastically increased the registration cost for hybrids to the point that I’m really not saving any money driving it anymore.

An El Camino or Ranchero would fulfill about 90% of what I do with my truck, but the other 10% wouldn’t be able to be done by any of our other vehicles and aren’t situation where it would be feasible to rent/borrow a truck.

I spent $6500 on mine with paint and a newly installed crate 350 with a rebuilt th350 behind it. I had to redo the entire suspension, but that was cheap and easy. $10k would have to be a really nice car.

I'd sell you mine for $10k. It has a new Holley Sniper efi and is professionally tuned and it has all new gauges.

What year is yours and where are you located?

It would probably be awhile before I would pull the trigger. I would have to figure out and sort out a Volt replacement before I can decide for sure about selling my truck. That most likely won’t be done until either late spring or early fall unless I found an amazing deal.

Mine is an 87 and I’m in Virginia. The car is from Florida. I’m probably not really ready to sell anyways. The efi install completely changed the car and made it way more fun to drive. Plus there is plenty of money to be dumped into it still!

Given how few of those were made I’ve seen several for sale lately. I think that is the fourth listing I’ve seen this month and all four were different colors so I know they are actually different ones.

Granted I look up all kinds of weird cars so it might be a sign that targeted ads work.
