...so we didn’t. My wife’s birthday was today. So I made a fruit tart and also her favorite Dutch apple pie for the dual celebration. I’m thankful for her health and for another good year.

There’s a self-destructive part of me that wants to smoosh those two things together, then put crust around the entire thing, bake it for awhile, and serve with cinnamon icing for dipping....

My mom’s is may 3, so I have the double whammy of trying to scrape together a decent day for her and then I have to turn around and do it again a week later
