Currently trying to get this amazing reimagining of an R&B hit down on guitar. Tim Henson’s playing style is so much fun. Seriously, listen to this. It's like one minute long (the rest is a tutorial).
On bass I’m working on a classic Jacoso many harmonics! Dude even has harmonics and normal notes played together as part of chords. It’s a good challenge.
The setup. I’ve been playing my roommate’s no-name strat knockoff lately. It’s just so fun to have a short scale to play around on. Damn thing feels like a toy, although the notes do tend to die out rather quickly when bending on the upper frets.

Do you make a bass face?

I’ve been grooving on Tony Franklin and The Firm lately. I’m a major Jimmy Page/Pail Rogers fan.

I love watching/hearing covers like that - the way some people break down and reconstruct music in their own style can be so interesting.

Huh, I’ve never listened to his work in The Firm. I’ll check that out!
I introduced my roommate to Victor Wooten recently, and I think it's hilarious that now in the middle of his hard rock/electronic playlists I'll hear some funky bass grooves thrown in

I haven’t been playing much at all because my home office is also my ‘studio’...so at the end of a work day, the last thing I want to do is spend more time in that room
The guys want to start practicing again next week so I better start blowing the rust off. They want to add a mini-80's set Surrender/It Doesn’t Really Matter/Pump it Up. Have barely touched them in the past two months...oops.

So much this! Want out of this room so bad at the end of the day.
Played the keys on Pump It Up in my last band. Fun tune!

Victor wooten is literally the greatest. Saw him with Bela fleck in 1999? 2000? At Madison square garden opening for Dave Mathews band (I know, I know).

Nice! I just picked up a new to me acoustic guitar this afternoon. I sold all of my gear before I moved a few years back except for the cheapo knock off strat that I learned on and wasn’t worth selling but earlier this year I got the bug again and picked up some strings for it. A 1980’s Korean made Sigma popped up on the book of faces market place this week for the right price and I am stoked. Sigma was Martin Guitar’s Asian entry level offer back in the day and is still a bargain for the sound . My enthusiasm is stronger than my calluses at the moment though so I have to jam in moderation. Leave it to Oppo to make me want to push that limit a little bit further!

Push the limit!!
I’m terrible at acoustic, but I learned the bass in a very “classical guitar” style so I’ve been meaning to find a cheap classical to fiddle with.

Seriously, there are some pretty crazy covers

Well I do have to move it out of my chair and if I pick it up I must play it, right? Goodbyeee fingertips, you shall return new and improved.
I’ve always dug acoustic just due to the natural souls of it. No effects, if you want a different sound then move to a different room. I’m more of a rhythm player anyway and that isn’t as fun on an electric unless you’ve got a band to jam with.

Nice practice setup. Here is my current project. New to me Squire signature series. It’s got GFS pickups, knobs, and switch and I locked the bridge. I’m probably going to swap over to a white pick guard next string change.
