Foreshadowing or outdated information? I hope the latter.

It’s rather telling that the majority of good comments in that post are from OppO s.

Honestly since Ballaban went mid April, FP took a nose dive. I’ve had enough of the
errors and hot
takes just from articles, in addition the comments not loading and ad spam.
I
’d rather chill out here and have a good time.

I posted this on the FP article at the same time. Only two people starred it:

This is good Oppo. Undead Oppo.

I think he thought we were dead from that kerfuffle awhile back - a few of us commented on the article and he fixed it :)
![]() 05/06/2020 at 15:44 |

Naw, it’s fine - was a misunderstanding - he thought Oppo went down in that big kerfuffle awhile back, he’s removed ‘RIP’ from the article now and knows we’re still kickin’ :)

The Puffalumps love you, too.

Thats the way it goes sometimes. If you start your own thread, the comment usually just gets buried.

I almost regret painting links to Oppo there lest some of the FP crazies cross over.

(fun fact: I first heard this going out to film the V8 944, so I’m pretty sure I’m the dead one here)

Rory let me write about my parsh at Autoweek, so I’m not sure if that makes him tough or gullible. He could take at least eight of us until someone bonks him on the head with a bag of meatballs.

This is like that awkward time when you’ve said goodbye, then the flight is delayed and you have to sit there another hour with nothing else to say. So, I’m gonna go ahead and go, bye

WHICH V8 went into a 944 ? P-Car V8? Or, an great-unwashed-masses V8?

When the front page says Oppo is dead but in actuality Oppo is more alive than the front page.

I have made
peace with the 944 V8 swap. It can be good. It’s one of my favorite cars when stock, but if you asplode an engine, why not?

Awesome. I made peace with it (but not with the Beemer zealots) when I put an LS6 in my E46 wagon. Now? Sans VANOS? Suddenly the engine is the most reliable component on that cars... Well, and the T-56.
![]() 05/08/2020 at 19:35 |
|
That’s the thing with LS swaps—everything around it tends to break, heh.
![]() 05/08/2020 at 20:49 |

I wish I could “LS swap” the kraappy window regulators. That E46 scored the trifecta of BMW Window Weepiness — a majority of the regulators are shot, the majority of the UP_Down buttons are shot and the “window controller” (conveniently placed where the papier mache cowl seal rot s to drain water behind the glovebox) is non-functional due to water damage from the aforementioned water-solu ble water seal...
![]() 05/10/2020 at 07:31 |
|
Reminds me of the GM units for, uh, my entire life. My mom had to tape over the rear controls because those windows would get stuck. No water damage, though, but still all suck.
Is there no replacement cowl that doesn’t let water in?
![]() 05/10/2020 at 08:27 |
|
Yeah, I assume the after-market units aren’t made of tissue paper bound together with Elmer’s glue. That car has a nasty windshield crack, so it needs a complete re-do... it’s safe and dry in the shop currently.
That “window electronic controller” placement is apparently a standing joke in the E46 community-- being mounted in EXACTLY the wrong placement for wet, rainy climates.
I can’t defend the GM regulators either. I’ve got a B-Body (Impala SS) with a Grand Sport engine and T-56... and three windows that go down, fall off the track and won’t go back up. Embarrassing at the drive-through, especially as we can’t go into restaurants these days. Those regulators are a real pain in the neck to do, since the rivets (thanks! GM!) all have to be drilled out.

Oh yeah. I remember my parents giving me a Sonic gift card in college........right as my Grand Am’s drivers’ side window got stuck in the up position. I will forever curse GM’s electronic window regulators. Forever. I am curse, but t
hey are even more
cursed (somehow).
