I’m so happy that SE is on Xbox now. Not because I prefer playing it with a controller. In fact I gave up on that and bought a 20 dollar keyboard and mouse. But because I don’t have a gaming computer and font want to spend hundreds of dollars on one.

Anyway. My brother and I have been playing a bit on line. Just building ships and the. Trying to blow each other up with them. He’s a big time Trekkie and bases his ship designed heavily on Federation designs. So I decided to do the opposite. Here’s my Borg Cube, and Klingon Bird of Prey.

The restrictions we’ve set for each other are under 20k pcu, no more than 8 rocket launchers, and you have to carry 4 armed warheads in your ship which makes them more explode-y.

My next biuld will be a Romulin Warbird. That’ll be a challenging one.

That would take far more time than I care to invest. And probably actually impossible with the limitations of the Xbox game.

Aw, boo. I was hoping that was on PC. A 1/4 scale Borg Cube in Space Engineers equipped with weapons would be capable of obliterating everything in its path.

I love Space Engineers (I have it on PC) as it plays hugely in my love of things like Star Trek as I grew up...but on anything other than game worlds with no planets / few asteroids, the load times and periodic lag spikes are a massive PITA...my brother and I play it as well, and our PC systems are far beyond the recommended specs for the game, so it’s not that.

You know the ‘cargo ships’ that periodically float through the game world that you can go capture? (The Mining Carriage, Mining Hauler, Frigate, etc?) My personal ship in the game right now that I love to tweak is a captured Mining Hauler that I captured and started using WAY back when the game was relatively new and have continuously tweaked it until now...it’s called the ‘Minerario’, which is Italian for Miner, lol...

It’s sortof a ‘do-everything’ small-sized ‘Exploration’ ship and is capable of planetary landings and take-offs, has a Jump Drive, AI-controlled autonomous mining drone (thanks scripts! :D), two hangar bays for small grid ships (I usually only fill the rear hanger with my fighter and mining small ship) , a remote-controlled robotic arm for mining on planets to refuel with ice to make hydrogen fuel (again, thanks scripts! :D), and various live ship update screens for things like cargo, systems information, damage, functioning map, etc (AGAIN again, thanks scripts! :D)

This one is pretty tough. Housing the thrusters inside, while breaking physics, does keep them protected.

I forgot to mention that we only use light armor. But if you used heavy armor, or added another layer of light armor, it would be unstoppable.

That sounds pretty cool. I’m assuming your on a survival game. I haven’t messed with survival at all. Which is funny because on Minecraft I never played creative, but on SE it’s the opposite.

I font have much to do today maybe I’ll start a survival campaign

Survival yes, but , to be honest, we kindof cheat a bit, lol...we have Admin rights turned on on the server we play on, so we use that to copy-paste in our large-grid ship designs that we made in Creative and then ‘survive’ using them. :)

We use blueprint projectors to build all our small ships though from the blueprints of the ships we made in creative though, but building a large grid ship in survival through a projector takes FOOORRREEEVVVEERRR
