I finally got a good picture of this clean but slightly faded Dodge Ramcharger on a nice long walk this Thursday afternoon. The Ramcharger is not a common vehicle at all, so I always enjoy seeing this well maintained example around. Don’t worry, the no parking sign refers to a different section of the road that is closed off at certain times for bus loading.
They have a 5 series wagon as well. And its not the only one about.
This lovely blue longroof isn’t usually streetparked, but messing with the camera settings made this shot turn out annoyingly blurry.
Ooh, I have never seen this clean 944 around before. The owner had the sort of massive smile on his face that usually only a new ride can make, so I wish him the best.
I’ve seen a lot of G63 AMGs around, but this striking shade of off white made this one stand out.
This very well preserved 1995 Mazda Miata M Edition is a little far away, but I’ve documented it better !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
There are a lot of air cooled VW geeks around. This guy is always driving this bright yellow Thing around. The Acura RDX in that shade of purple is also uncommon enough to warrant inclusion.
Blurry Chevy and an old Jeep
I can’t tell if this is a very good or very redundant two car garage.
Magnum and a recent renovation.
Big cable truck on a small street.
Wide boi is long boi.
When’s the last time you saw a Chevy Lumina? It was in pretty good condition as well.
Mmmmmmmmmmm. Fiat. Mmmmmmm. Minty green something something something.
Oh, where was I?
I haven’t noticed a Crosstour for a while. Man, that is one ugly car. Old Volvo S80 too.
What is this? An Izuzu? A Mazda?
And now, let’s have some fun with garage to house size ratios.
Impressive!
Even more impressive. No, that house is exactly the size it appears to be and that garage is much larger than it appears to be.

I was staring at a Crosstour the other day and thought it looked just like a newer Civic hatch, just 10 years too early (and 30% larger).
There’s a house in the older part of our neighborhood, built in the 30s. Instead of adding onto the house, the lady who lived there just built a huge garage with a master suite above it. It flows ZERO with the existing home, but she was able to do it without having to move out, which is a nice plus. But now you have a huge, luxurious suite with an itty bitty house in front. It’s very odd.

This seems like a very nice neighborhood.

I scheduled this last night, so coincidence ? A while ago I scheduled a post about that terrible Nissan Frontier Taxi that I keep seeing and it came out a few minutes after someone else’s post about a yellow Frontier. Crazy.

Little pickup is indeed a Mazda.
Sadly, the current G product mix seems to be about 10:1 in favor of AMG. I’d choose the normal G550.

There is a massive garage building epidemic around here. The original builder of this one built many many others; he sold without ever installing an interior or even electricity and this guy bought it and did his best. People still give him lots of hate for the gas pumps, but try making it look any better. Unfortunately this is only the tip of the iceberg for incompatible monolithic garages taking the place of historic homes.

In most areas, yes. There are plenty of holdouts from before the property values soared that can’t afford to be “nice,” and plenty who just choose not to.

I see an absurd amount of AMGs around, and the idea of the AMG Gs never really made sense to me. I don’t think I would ever choose a G elandewagen at all though so it’s not like I will ever put my money where my mouth is.

AMG G is a compromised vehicle, suspension and wheels aren’t the best for the weight IMO. It needs to be softer. If I had the money I might go that route, could be fun, but mine would be a non-blingly regular model. My local dealer has one with blue seats. I just can’t lay down 150K.
Most AMGs I seem to spot lately are the less than pretty GLC and GLE “coupes”.

Why is there a book case outside?
Eclectic neighborhood , my favorite’s gotta be the Ram charger because turbine wheels, followed by the 924.

Unfortunately that bli ght seems to be only increasing in popularity. The proper AMG sedans are still common enough but they are on the decrease. The word "coupe" may not be salvageable at this point.

AMG is now a profit center, like like M for BMW and S for Audi. Coupe is also now a subjective term.
I did see a new unplated E63 wagon the other day, so all hope is not lost.

Eclectic is right. A weird mix of old money, no money, and old money wanna bes with new money kids.
The book case is a community library where you take a good book and leave a bad book in it s stead. So at this point it is full of crusty old cook books and weight loss tips because everyone has taken the good ones. Probably better because no one disinfects it, but there are a few around.

Not all hope, but most, in an era where M Sports have bigger badges than M cars.
![]() 04/24/2020 at 12:44 |
|
And the badge is repeated across the car in about 18 locations.
However, it sells.

I have never heard of such a thing, but it’s a neat idea. Does it not rain there? How does everything not get destroyed instantly?

Oh it rains big time, necessitating a hefty roof. Like this.
