Today I learned NFL teams could trade retired players.

He retired mid-contract, thus the Pats still owned the rights to him.

This protects, let’s say, the Browns if OBJ suddenly said that he is retiring, unretires a week later, and decides to sign with literally any other team than that craptastic cur sed organization in Cleveland.

That’s probably an important feature, seeing as how most of their players will be retirement age by the time the league reopens.

They even have thi s program where if you’re a dirty player you can work for the Department of Player Safety while you’re still under contract. Sorry, that was a cheap shot at Pronger. Heyooo!
