We’ve got people laying down ridiculous points. You all have really risen to the challenge. Next challenge: 1 billion points!
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!

Next stop, 1 Heckaflop, then maybe a Miataflop?
Also, be sure to check out this website for daily updates on how many points people are putting down.

At this pace we’ll hit 500 million in under 4 weeks if we maintain this pace. We made 17 Oppoflops in the last 24 hours...
I managed to keep pace with Eury the last 24 hours, I think I will be able to regain some of that ground but I am not sure I’ll be able to over take him. He is a machine!

Hey man, feel free to post an analysis of your own on this effort. Folks are probably getting sick of me posting all the time. But I cannot believe what we’ve accomplished in 8 days. And there are more GPUs coming on line daily. Real GPUs that can turn half a million or more points per day.

“Miataflop” is a contradiction in terms. Miata’s can’t flop.

Yep, looks like I’ll have to bring another machine online to catch up. I probably have too many computers, but I’m only using two right now to fold and I have about 5 total I could be folding with, but two wouldn’t be doing much.
I’m only averaging just below 750k points, I was pulling around 1.2-1.5 million a day before, hoping to get back on that train soon.

Hopefully I’ll be north of 2 million a day tomorrow, we’ll wait and see though.
As it is starting to warm up I shut off a few of my small machines (4-8k PPD ea ) so probably shaved some off my total but overall a better choice.

What will you be bringing online for that kind of points?

Late last night I upgraded my RX 5700 to an XT in my workstation and moved the RX 5700 into my Plex server so stats wise those two GPUs should give me 2 million points. On top of that I have a GTX 1050 good for ~140k, Ryzen 5 2600 for ~35k, a Ruzen 5 2600 for ~85k, a handful of smaller machines good for ~100k total and 4 Google Cloud VMs that are generating about 400k PPD total.
I’m not assuming they’ll all be generating points all day long but should be able to lay down some serious points for sure.
**EDIT : I’m insane and am running an entirely too complicated setup both because I’m a competitive nerd and to make myself learn things too.

I’d love to bring my wife’s gaming PC o nline for the team but it been...unstable recently. I don’t really trust her power supply for long term continuous use and she’s been having some weird GPU issues I haven’t been able to solve , I may test it to see how it goes but I don’t want to kill it lol

Thanks for that link! I was attempting to remember where I’d seen detailed F@H stats before but couldn’t find it.

I’m not trying to maintain standings anymore. More concerned with passing the time. :P So I may end up putting F@H on hold once XCOM: Chimera Squad releases.
Mmm. Snekgirl.

Yet no comment about the comic? :P Must’ve been way outside your ballpark, then.
P.S. I expect to see a billion credits banked by mid-May.

Agreed there, it’s been a team effort on the PR side, for sure but you’re the one who brought us together, for this cause.
Seriously, thanks

Well no wonder I’ve had such a hard time catching you, I’m just running a GTX 1080 Ti in my desktop
and a GTX 1660 Ti in my laptop.
I’ve turned off folding for both of my processors to test a theory I have. I might throw together a build with the GTX 970 I have laying around and maybe the 650 Ti as well.

I wasn't put off by the comic, I just didn't know what to make of it.

Is that you're drawing?

You're welcome. Thank you for saying something.

Nope, the source is linked at the bottom of the comment.

It was drawn by the author after they saw the XCOM: Chimera Squad trailer.

The 970 should still lay down some pretty decent points, better than my 1050. Not sure on the 670, that may be too many gen back to do m uch good, I’d do some googling before I installed it. If you’ve got the space and the power supply you can put the 970 in the same machine as the 1080 ti. I’m running a GTX 1050 in the same machine as an RX 5700 (I’m a former crypto miner so very comfortable with this and pushing my machines to the very edge).
Those 1080 Ti cards are m onsters, so amazing last gen tech they destroy most of the current gen for 98% of workloads.
I’ve only had the second RX card for the last 24 hours so it should help propel me forward shortly but today was mostly catch-up for the several hours I had both my main rigs down to clean, install parts, drivers and config to hey when working again.
I did dial back the threads my CPUs are using from max which helps with responsiveness in regular tasks still and doesn’t seem to shave many points off.

Unfortunately I only have 1 PCIe x16 slot on my current motherboard that is in my main system, but I have an older one laying around that has at least on slot I can put the 970 in.
Yeah, I love my 1080 Ti, it’s an Asus Strix card and I have it lightly overclocked so that helps a little more. I was thinking about picking up a 2080 Ti that a local guy has for sale for $750, but I might wait for next gen NVIDIA or AMD cards .
My new CPU, motherboard and RAM will be here Saturday, Ryzen 9 3900X, interested to see how many points it churns out over my 4790k. But I’ll be able to run my 1080 ti and 970 in it at full speed for both. Just glad I have a weird case with really good cooling.

I’d imagine that breaking the wife’s PC would result in horrible punishment. Especially in the land of quarantine.

do you get to see what is being done? is there anything to see or is it just math problems or something

She’s kind of been obsessed with Animal Crossing recently, so I might be able to get away with it for a little bit...

That’s a good question. The app has two different interfaces that you can watch if you want to. One is built in, and the other runs through your web browser. They’re kind of wonky, but they show you how many points you’ve earned and the projected rate at which you’re earning them currently. The big indicator of what the computer is doing is the fans. The F@h app runs the CPU and the GPU at full capacity — if you let it — and the fans are necessary to keep the processors cool. If you’re doing work on the computer, and the F@h app seems to be slowing it down, you can slow down the app or pause it. Gaming computers do the best work because the graphics processing units, or GPUs, on gaming computers are the most powerful. The big bitcoin mining computers are running a boo coo bunch of GPUs.
The F@h app has this little protein in the Windows System Tray. You right click on that to access the controls easily.

I’m at a combined 300k not a lot, but maybe I can make it onto the first printscreen page!!!!
