Folding Question

I just set up a new PC for my son, and decided to see how much faster it would fold than my older PC. For some reason, it is not using the GPU (this is a screenshot of my Mac, which never uses the GPU). Is that a setting? Or did the program decide the GPU wasn’t needed for this task?

Configure > Slots > Add > choose CPU or GPU type. Word of note on Macs that they dont normally support GPU folding because Apple uses a different API library that isn’t supported by F@H, but CPUs are generally always compatible.

Follow chaozbandit’s info and you should be good. When the GPU is enabled it’ll look something like this (although with only one GPU listed):

Oh, right - not the installation but the app taking advantage of the hardware that’s already installed . Yeah, sometimes it takes some time to get an assignment, but be patient and it’ll eventually get one. Today is the first day I’m running with dual GPUs, and overnight it didn’t get a job. This morning it had a job on the slower GPU, but since this afternoon it’s been processing on both.

I wish there was a way to force it to get a job, and in my case, I wish I could assign the first job to the faster GPU. But that stuff is done on the server side of things and we just need to be patient.
