There are literally NONE of that generation of F150 left here...quite a few from the generations before and after, but NONE of that one.....weren’t those known to rust like mad? Or be less reliable or something?
Has to be some reason I haven’t seen one in years....

I see a few, but not many. Definitely more of the prior gen. There’s one down the road from me, a green F250 XL reg. cab long bed 4x4 that looks mint, because of course it’s owned be an old retired guy who never goes anywhere. By far the nicest one of that gen in town.

I think it was style. I distinctly remember there being a huge backlash in the truck world when Ford added curves to the truck.
I also see none of these anymore, but I also rarely see the prior gen except the occasional HD work truck. Especially diesels.

Most of the ones I see of this gen (WHEN I see them) are FAR rustier than any other gen I see....maybe a coincidence, but I just assumed for whatever reason they rusted out more, and therefore none left!

In the land of no rust they are still plentiful. My friend has one and he just can’t kill it. Did n’t the next generation have lots of reliability issues though?

Could be! Trucks are not my thing at all, so I have no idea, lol!
If anything, I guess I am a Dodge/RAM guy more than anything, but I am not really into ‘American-style’ trucks unless they are old trucks, Aussi
utes or the cool light pickups you see in Europe, South America and the rest of the world.

I love utes too, since they combine the best of both words. I think an aussie ute would make a great weekend toy, especially since many use Ford/GM parts bin stuff making for easy repairs plus a substantial aftermarket.
American style trucks are often tremendous fun to drive with RWD, a big torquey V8, and almost no weight on the rear wheels. And of course the cargo capacity is a big plus. I can’t say I would be too tempted to daily one though since I value handling over power typically.
