I was under the impression that the advanced engineering division’s success funded the F1 team (a la Ferrari building roads cars for the same reason). To sell that (relatively) steady source of incoming funds for a (presumably) large cash injection and then have to refinance/mortgage what sounds like basically all of the team’s assets is a bad sign for their financial well-being. The current crisis is only going to compound these issues and I have to seriously wonder if and how long they’ll be on the grid when racing resumes.

In their current form, neither do I. I have to wonder if the sale and refinancing is the Williams family cashing out.

I don’t think the team has been run well under Claire’s tenure and I can’t see S ir Frank wanting to push on like this anymore. If Latrus/ Latifi end up taking it over it’ll be good that the team survives and stays on the grid, but it won’t be Williams.

The only way the Williams name is retained is if the Historical prize money is still awarded. Otherwise it’ll be Latrus until they run out of money after a year and then it’ll be gone.

More like struggling entity throws hail mary in the hopes of revitalizing. A sale would have been much cleaner and allowed the principals to walk away. This is essentially going all in with a pair of 3s. The principals are going to walk away with nothing.
