There was a team that used to use one in the East African Safari Classic rally, but they would always take in too much dust into the engines (which are typically fragile) and they would fail.

My dad passed on a gullwing in the early 70's, it had a broken axle and he didnt want to deal with that! I could have been able to drive a gullwing !!
