Suzuki still sells cars here, I have a Lancia turbo engine transplanted in my 1987 Peugeot and Pontiac is so obscure (to me) that there is nothing to miss. I miss Saab though. I wish some other company than GM would have bought it.

Hot take, Pontiac and Lancia have no reason to exist. Pontiac occupies pretty much the same space as Chevrolet, which means a modern Pontiac needs to exist separate from GM, and Lancia has the same problem with Alfa. Lancia could work in a modern context as FCAs electric only “innovation” brand, which respects Lancia tradition. But this is FCA.

I would love to DD something like that just for shits and giggles.

Imagine if Saab and Scania had stayed as one entity, then Saab would now be under the VAG umbrella, which means Saab would make rebodied Golfs now.

Who you calling obscure?

I don’t think Pontiac ever had any reach overseas. I can see why someone from Europe wouldn't think about Pontiac too much.

Pontiacs (and Buicks of the time) are the total if it runs, its worth 1200-1500 cars. All the ones you see with expired temp tags because they cant pass emissions but will run bad FOREVER. Inop windows, cladding falling off, falling headliners. And just keep on going. Crazy amount of Suzuki SX4s i see around. The cheapo Subaru? I miss my SAAB 9000, and would roll any Lancia because Italian is the best reason to put up with a maintainance intensive vehicle!
