My boss let me come to work today. Hopefully I’ll be back to my usual schedule. Definitely not as busy as we used to be tho. 50 minutes in and no delivery orders. But I’d rather be here making minimum wage than at home for another week.

What is minimum wage where you are?

$7.20 something in Wisconsin I believe.

7.25 normally I get tips on top of that. Thankfully I’m About to take a delivery right now

It’s $7.25 nationally, didn’t know if it was higher where he was.

Restaurants who are adept at take out and delivery operations are hopefully sustaining from that revenue stream. I have wondered though, in all the guidelines about distancing and cross contamination, whether folks should be concerned about the workers preparing their food. Yes, health guidelines restaurants must follow should alleviate any problems, but in the end, you have people of unknown health status preparing your food behind closed doors and under sometimes frenetic conditions where “oopsies” can happen.

Seriously though, I hope you get plenty of business.

Georgia has a minimum wage below national for servers, $5.15 an hour, presumably taking into account tips to reach $7.25. So it could be worse.
Stay safe out there.

Enjoy a break from the insanity - but be careful!

I too now wonder if “Bar Rescue” ever made it to Wisconsin.

Same deal here in Wisconsin employers can pay as little as 5.50 for tip positions. My boss pays us 7.25 just because he’s a nice guy lol.

Seems like thing will go okay, at least for me. The restaurant as a whole is super slow of coarse but I’ve made like $10/hr in tips today which is pretty average

I bet - I’ve been WFH for 2 weeks now and with both the slow pace of work and the lack of human contact it’s driving me nuts.

My daughter was scrolling Netflix menus the other day and asked, “how many shows does Gordon Ramsay need?” This kind of “reality”show stuff has gotten so out of hand. If I’m hungry enough to order food from a bar, I frankly don’t want to know what happens in the kitchen. It would ruin my appetite.

Some rather sad looking places are impeccably clean and well managed. Books and covers I suppose.
This is probably a bad point to take the conversation in the direction of food plants. :P

I’m so happy that is running well, and is registered and insured. Being able to ride legally is one joy I never got to experience on my old Honda Aero80 because I never had a title for it.
Now I just have to fight the stroong desire to replace it with a bigger enduro right away....

In the future, just so you know, Vermont will gladly send you a license plate to your out of state address. No title necessary if it's under 300cc or more than 15 years old. My buddy here on Chicago has two scooters with Vermont plates on them.

That’s wild. So Vermont motorcycle plates are the pleb version of Super car Montana plates?

Pretty much, yeah.
