I picked a heck of a time to break myself. Apparently I have a left inguinal hernia. I know this because about 12 years ago I had a right inguinal hernia and what I’ve got going on now is identical. At least now I’m symmetrical.
It is very unpleasant, but the recovery is arguably worse. Don’t worry, I’ll have plenty of time to think about that and dread it because in talking with my doctor, nobody is gonna touch this for at least a month or two.
So in the meantime no heavy lifting or strenuous activities. There goes all my wrenching and house work plans. I also have to try to sleep on my back so everything relaxes, which is weird to me.
Bizzarrini P538 for your time.

Just saw a vid of one of these getting detailed after sitting for 30 years...

That stinks. I feel you on the sleeping on your back thing . . . I will do so for part of the night, but now that I’m doing it all the time, and in a recliner, it feels a bit unnatural. At least I was able to get my collarbone surgery before everything shut down locally. Hang in there and . . . is there any upside? Less manual labor at work, maybe?

That stinks. I had the exact same before, left inguinal hernia. Limits on activity suck because you can feel all stiff and sure too. You might be able to do some stretching to help with the mostly sedentary routine.
Also, try very hard not to get sick. Imagine being in a coughing fit with a hernia. Ow. No thank you.

Damn man, that sucks....hopefully they’ll get to you to help you out sooner than later...

I actually got it to relax and go back on its own. But I'm still sore.

That sucks for sure. Take it easy and don’t make things worse. Time to binge your favorite shows!

Well I hate sitting around, so its tough, but Im trying to take it easy. There is actually a small danger to these - if left untreated they can become strangulated which can in turn lead to tissue death, infection, and eventually real death. But if I take it easy on it I should be fine.

The Ammo NYC one? That was my inspiration for this. Ive seen a few GT 5300s, gorgeous cars.

I hope so, in the meantime I'll survive.

Yeah, Im going to try to stay as active as I can, considering the limits. Its no fun.
And you’re right, staying healthy is going to be even more important.

Yeah, Im a side/stomach sleeper so it feels a bit unnatural to me, but Ill get through. I did last time.
I’m an analyst, I sit in a chair and stare at a computer all day. So not too much help there. I still have to go in because the nature of the work generally precludes working from home. But my boss is being cool and understanding so I will be able to do some WFH on days I ’m feeling particularly lousy. I need to bank that sick leave because, as I recall it was about 2 weeks of bed rest last time.

Indeed! I saw it on R&T a few days ago and then started looking for hoseless car wash options as most automated car wash places are closed down
