I rewatched it a couple of weeks back because I was already getting that vibe . Such a good film.

Ecoterrorists release a virus that kills off a good portion of the Earth’s population. Bruce Willis is sent back in time to stop them. Very good film.

You should, it’s great. Perhaps peak Terry Gilliam.

This movie was great, but we’re nowhere near there. The only slight similarity is air traffic carrying the pathogen everywhere.

Yeah, this thing isn’t nearly that bad. I was thinking about more from an ecological perspective. I’m able to get a hike in every day and our air quality has been greatly improved. Now you have people talking about shutting down air travel, everyone now realizes how shitty cruises are, military infrastructure is being affected. I said fuck it and let the native “weeds” go nuts in my front yard. I’ve got a quail nest in a paddle cactus, a dove nest in a planter, a sparrow nest in the backyard. Been finding snakes in my front yard.

I know most of this is just because it is spring, but it’s giving me a vibe.

And the whole surface of the planet outside houses being declared nearly off limits due to viral contamination.

In general I’m not a big fan of Brad Pitt. This film, in my opinion, is his best work to date.

I will admit, however, the “What’s in the box????!??!” scene from Se7en was pretty good stuff .

Its also a cool look back at what Philadelphia was like at its lowest point, before gentrification. Every derelict building   they used in the movie has since been totally rehabb ed.

I’ve only been to Philly once, and that was in the ‘90s after visiting the Camden aquarium. Compared to Camden Philly wasn’t too bad ; )

Well, no, it never got Camden or Detroit bad, but all of Broad Street north of Center City was really rundown. The northernmost part still is, but all the areas where they filmed Twelve Monkeys are pretty nice now.

I have a coworker from Philly. She moved to a wealthy Phoenix suburb before having kids, so they never experienced Philly . She took her kid to an Eagles game last year, which they won, and two Eagles fans kicked the shit out of each other on the train after the game. Her son couldn’t understand why they were fighting after a win, and she let him know that it doesn’t matter, Eagles fans are gonna Eagles fan.

In my experience, the worst of the drunken idiots actually come in from the suburbs. The real Philadelphians are all too sleepy from the heroin.
