But boy do they look tough, usability/utility be damned !

I’ll admit I haven’t been keeping up with Wrangler pricing, but these all seem like crack pipe pricing.

They have just enough useability to store and protect the fragile ego of the person who buys it!

My brother lives near Emerald Isle in North Carolina. He told me that there you can’t get a permit sticker to drive on the beach if you’re vehicle isn’t 4wd. So these Jeeps couldn’t even do the most basic thing you buy a Jeep to do. Drive 10mpg on sand while looking cool and annoying other people with your music.

ha - my neighbor down the street has an “angry, white Wrangler” - lift, tires, brush guard, cat back...

I agree!

They shouldn’t even come 2WD

But they did! And there is a decent number of them people bought!

The photography is sufficiently terrible that I can’t be sure, but I think the blue one with winch is 4wd.
Thanks for collecting this gallery of shame.

I don’t think it was the worst idea, especially since tons of people swapped their entire drivetrains anyway. Why pay for a front axle, driveshaft, and transfer case that you’re going to be pulling out and replacing with something different anyway?
These though, yeah.

As a freshman in college, I met a girl from Florida . One day she’s telling me she doesn’t think her Grand Cherokee will do very well in the snow- this is in upstate NY - and I’m like “wtf are you talking about it’ll be fantastic unless your tires are bald” to which she replied, “nope, it’s 2wd; rwd actually.” I tried to argue, but she was certain, and she was of course correct.
My New England brain could not comprehend that such a thing existed - and this was a GC not a Wrangler.

Wonder if it is 2WD?

The blue one is 2wd as well. The proof is in the interior shot:
There is no 4low/4high/2wd shifter that you would normally see.

The slot is there, but you’re right. I was looking for the TJ shifter which the photos are too dark to definitively disprove, but the JK shifter is upright and would have shown up in a different photo.

you know, I don’t really know - assumed it was 4wd but now that you mention it maybe not, he is a bit of a status/show oriented guy...

Waste of money for posers .
