I’ve been missing my Alice really hard this week. She passed last June. First got sick right around now, last year.

She was my best friend. A runt, survived some horrible shit when she was tiny , and I promised that she would only have comfort, safety, and love. I did my best. So did she.

A neighbor asked me if I could take in a 3-yr-old husky with little training, last week. It was really hard to say no, but, shit. I can’t fix everything. I wish I could. I’ve wanted a dog for 20 years, but I can’t in good conscience give a dog the life it needs. That’s why I haven’t had a dog around.

I miss my little perfect predator, though.

Ever thought of adopting another kitty? You’ll never replace Alice, but her memory will live with you and you’d give another little furball a chance at a loving home and it could do you good to have another little boopable nose to come home to? :)

Oh, yeah, all the time. But I’ve kinda put a moratorium on another mammal in the household for the foreseeable.

My daughter’s become completely enamored of our neighbors’ cats over the past year, which doesn’t help.
