My buddy left today for the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City (or somewhere). I guess he’ll be turning around soon.

Everyone on both teams will have the time of their lives, since that will really be kicking it old school for them, back to their high school days of crappy gyms.

I got a text from him. He heard this news just as he was walking into his hotel room in KC. With so much travel involved, you’d think they would have made that decision sooner.

Yeah, has to be terribly frustrating for him. Clearly not a decision that they wanted to make. I wonder if the NCAA will end up splitting up their television profits to try to recoup losses for the host cities. Refunding everyone’s ticket money is going to be a huge mess, too. People who bought second-hand are likely screwed.

The university where my wife and I met cancelled their big
St. Pat’s celebration (the patron saint of engineers) for the first time since WWII.

The year that my alma mater will be playing tournament games in their home city. Of course. Also, the hotel company my wife works for is going to take it in the shorts.

According to facebook comments this is all a ploy by the democrats to make Trump look bad.

He’s been going for years.

Or is it a ploy by Trump to cancel the Democrat s’ campaign events?

Yes, and t his is the inside joke to me, that people end up talking themselves into harsher restrictions than their religion prescribes. Know what you believe in if you’re gonna believe in it.

If they let the LDS church teams play they will crush the NCAA teams with a bunch of slightly overweight 30-40 YO dads.

T echnically, I guess cold coffee drinks are allowed. So, that lets maybe half of Starbuck’s menu back on the approved list. Take that, Elders!

So now all the college basketball fans that are ‘working from home’ can jam into the local pubs to watch the games. Draft beer and free bowls of community popcorn, peanuts, and pretzels for everyone!!!!
