Good morning oppo! I am feeling sick (flu... corona? ) , tired (only got 3 & 1/2 hours of sleep ) and I have a huge headache. But I still have to go to school because I have a test. Not to mention I have to go to ESS after that because I missed too many days and if I dont go I will be kicked out . If anyone knows a way to stay up so I don’t pass out during class please tell me I would appreciate it. Also here is a picture of my car for your time.

My advice is to stay home so you don’t get others sick and to call/email your professors and administration letting them know you will be home until no longer exhibiting any symptoms.

I am at school right now so.... Best if I ask to go home because I am sick?

gettingoldercarguy’s advice is good. I started feeling sniffly and achy last Tuesday, and it turned into a mild cough today. I called the doctor’s office and spoke to a nurse, who asked lots of questions, and we determined that it’s almost certainly just some virus, not the virus-du-jour. My wife and I were talking about it last night, and she said, “If the Covid weren’t in the news, you’d assume you had a cold. Or maybe a touch of flu.” On the other hand, if you went to the doctor they would provide you with a note that would excuse you and should require the school to make accommodations.
Feel better.

Start going to bed earlier. Lay there with your eyes closed without screens even if you can’t easily get to sleep. Don’t lay in bed listening to music or podcasts and don’t watch tv from bed. 7 hrs is your minimum, develop a regular schedule and stick to it.
Go to bed before midnight every night, even weekends. Don’t skip school. Go even when you don’t feel great. Unless you are: vomiting or spewing out the other end regularly (at least once an hour), too dizzy to stand, or are going to an actual hospital.
I managed to make it through my entire schooling only missing one day of school (got stung under the eye by a bee on the way to the bus, still technically went but got sent home when both my eyes swelled up too much to see), and 11 years of teaching without a sick day. If you just don’t give yourself the option of staying home you’ll have a much easier time actually going.

I wouldn’t even ask. I’d just tell them. But I’m old and haven’t been to school in over 20 years. Feel better.

Go to the school infirmary or clinic.

I actually do have a sleep schedule that I stick to but I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t
stop coughing even with all the cough drops and medicine I was taking
.
I try not to miss school unless as you said I am
“Vomiting or spewing out the other end
” so that’s why I came to school today because
I am doing neither
of those things. However my headache is killing me with all the sound around me.

I would add “unless you have a fever” to your second paragraph. If you are febrile you absolutely should stay home.

Step one
: Gatoraid and Pedialyte
Step two: yeet that hood off a cliff

I am in the process of starting step 1. However.... step 2. Just lmao what are you talking about? That hood is awesome.

Step 2 = bad advice

Step 2 = atrociously horrible advice.

Serious question though, Firehawk hood or WS6?
![]() 03/09/2020 at 13:25 |

Oof thats a tough question.... Maybe WS6 because I haven’t seen firehawk hoods in person.

Yes. I had a student force herself through a test while sick this semester. She bombed it. As her teacher, I would have preferred that the get herself well and take a makeup. At this late juncture, I would contact the teacher personally and tell him what’s going on.

Just saw your username and I have to say that’s a hilarious username . And that picture would be a lot cooler if the car had a WS6 hood (or a firehawk hood) .

False, flat hood is life.
( That’s my car btw. WS6 wheels, bilstein shocks, UMI front sway bar)

I suspect if you were to contact your professor, they’ll give you a pass on this test. Take it in their office after you are well. Might as well use the Corona scare to your advantage. My kid is in university now, and has been coming down with all kinds of crap (strep, mono) and her profs have been real good about excusing her from tests. Nobody want to chance getting sick.
Feel better soon.

Do those even exist anymore?

Not sure if Jesus Arias is in HS or college. Most secondary schools should still have a nurse (unless funding was cut), and most if not all universities have a clinic (I hope). So, to answer your question, I don’t know for sure.

Neither high school I went to had one.

Start pounding orange juice. You’ll be too jacked on sugar to fall asleep, and the vitamin C will do ya good.

Not even a school nurse? Wow.

Should've stayed home no telling what you had or have but it's a good way to spread it. With this corona going around and not knowing if you have the highly contagious virus that would've been the best decision.
