Better if the builder had used a level, but still...

you should get a brushed metal door bell button to match the locks. It’s the little things that can make a big difference

My parents’ previous house (where I lived in high school) had a little cabinet (accessible from the outside and inside), that was originally for milk deliveries, but was sometimes used by delivery people for packages. Pretty nice, and honestly a feature that should make a comeback in home design to help with package theft (I don’t even think it needs to lock, just not being able to see package sitting there would be a deterrent).

Agreed! Unfortunately, not my home :(

I love quirky little things like that. My favorite part of window washing was finding new (or old!) designs that I'd never seen before. Like the bookcase that swung out and revealed a wine celler...

Heh my corporate office has a secret bookcase door (j ust leading to a boring little space with some comfy chairs). I understand they’ve locked it though because some employees got up to something inappropriate in there. My main experience was that it always had litter in it because, one: people are trash, and two: it’s not clear that the cleaning staff knew it was there.
