640hp, which makes me think the regular (if it can be called ‘regular’) Turbo model is gonna have 600.
OR
This is a smokescreen... and when the 992 gets facelifted, the Turbo will get that drivetrain, and the Turbo S will stop existing... Replaced by the Turbo S E-hybrid... with 700 HP.
Or will Porsche wait for another generation to give the 911 electric motors?
I’m not a big fan of the Turbo models... I’d just like to see the manual 992s really.

Looks like square exhausts are in for 2020.

The 991 also had square exhausts I think?

Yeah a bit I’ll concede.

Square exhausts are there only for non sport exhaust equipped models. The other ones get oval/circular exhaust tips. Its explained in this:

The turbo too...

I would get the sport exhaust just to get rid of the square tips.

Well I’ll be. They have straightened up the squares a bit though which is somewhat more noticeable.

so does this mean that this model with have actual turbos or “turbos” like the Tycan
![]() 03/04/2020 at 14:19 |

So this is basically just a 991.2 GT2RS with all wheel drive, yeah?

You know what they say: fashion is cyclical. My old wagon is stylish again!

This particular model has two symmetrical
turbos
![]() 03/04/2020 at 14:42 |

Well, the engine has a shorter stroke, and it does make less power... but yeah?

It’s crazy that the ‘regular Turbo’ is already in 991 GT2 RS territory. Those are big HP and torque jumps.
Porsche has somewhat stated that no electrics in the 911 until at least the next refresh, so ~2026. No 911 EV until 2030.

I meant more spiritually i guess.......
![]() 03/04/2020 at 16:24 |

Yeah but it’s such a drastic departure from past statements... I think it’s a smokescreen.

Spiritually the Turbo model has always been a bit of a Grand tourer ... Its so heavy I wouldn’t imagine it’s spiritually comparable to a GT2 or GT3.
