Bumped for the morning crowd, since I posted it fair late last night. 75,000 miles, perfect running condition, with registration for another 6 months. Mostly good exterior and interior. Paddle shifter. Full sports package. HDD/DVD/Bluetooth/Nav/Tollway/TV system.
Drivers seat is a bit torn up, but my DC5 Recaros will easily go in with Bride RO rails, plug and play. Roof does have serious paint issues, but my automatcher, Rio, will get that taken care of for me later. And it needs rims.
Price? $2129. HELLS YEAH.
Goodbye, old friend:

Nice! Glad to see you still pop in around here

The Logo had serious issues for a while and finally died completely before Christmas. Didn’t seem a need to post until I had something worth posting.

Hi Kat, glad to see you on again
ooooo RS, it must have VTEC :p

I’ve missed your car posts so much. That car-camping article you did years ago i s still one of my favorite things I’ve read.
Sorry to see the logo go, such a neat little car. Hope the fit treats you well!

Logo no go so now Fit to go...
Japanese vehicle depreciation costs are truly the stuff of nightmares.

It does. 1.5L i-VTEC SOHC. I’ll be getting stickers for it in the style of the old 2000 Civic Si, as the color match is very close.

The Logo rolled off the line in October of 2000. It was a trooper. 20 years. No one can say it didn’t put in its due.

Yo! Good to see you still find some free time to pop up around here.

But great when you have like 0 budget. And it doesn’t really apply to the truly good stuff like Type Rs or NSXs or s2000s.

oh man, the same regular SOHC that regular Fits have? I thought they would’ve j
azzed it up a bit lol

Not a bad car for the money at all. We love our Fit. The only problem it has right now is the hatch handle sticks. But in the 5 years we’ve owned it, that and, a blower motor bad going at 50,000 miles, have been the only none regular maintenance problems.

They did. it’s got a whole .3L on my 2009 Fit G

Not exactly , this is the top e ngine in the Fit in Japan and Europe, but in America it was the only e ngine.

I guess it’s a bit cheaper since it’s not a desirable color. Couldn’t you find white, grey, or black? ;)
![]() 03/02/2020 at 22:27 |

Yeah, the price is right. I t’s also literally all the money I could spare, which is why I had an automatcher. I did not have money, I did have a list of vehicles (including a Fit RS) I was considering. What I did have was time. As long as it could be found before my parking would expire (you basically kind of need one to get the other, car and space, it’s annoying), I could wait as I live on a major train line to Tokyo and work in Shibuya. That would be like June. I think it took about a month or so for him to track this one down.

Nope, I am afraid not. It’s deader than a doornail. It’s being parted out to keep alive other Logos that still exist.

LOL. Considered a black, would have taken an RS in White and CTRed it. Instead I’m going to go with a more 2000 Civic SI theme. With a few CTR inspired pieces, like my ITR DC5 Recaros.

Dang, we haven’t seen a Kat post in a long time.
I guess the Fit is the spiritual successor of the Logo, so really you’re doing it justice. Plus, if it’s good mechanically, you already have solutions lined up for the little problems like the beat up seats and paintjob.
Good find, I hope you enjoy it!

Well shit, glad to see you back. And nice buy!
![]() 03/02/2020 at 23:16 |

Literal successor. The Fit is the model which replaced the Logo. Some Logo parts, such as the Logo TS wheels ended up on the first g en Fit. The sport button for the CVT I had on the Logo was the predecessor to the paddle shifters on the Fit.
In fact, look at the model lettering: GA (Logo) , GB (Freed, Logo related), GD/ GM (City) (first G en fit), GE (second gen fit), GK (third gen fit), GH (first gen HR-V)...

I actually like that blue you purchased .
I’d prefer mine to have not been white; it’s a bit hard to find in parking lots. At least my Okinawa plate now stands out a bit in Osaka & Kyoto.

Nice upgrade! The generation of Fit is my favorite-looking one. The good news is that 4x100 is a popular wheel pattern so it shouldn’t be tough to find a nice set from a Honda or a Mazda! If you need any USDM stuff, then let us know! These Fits are FINALLY starting to filter into junkyards.

Good to see a post from you! I just happen to have very recently purchased a freshly imported thing from Japan.
I’m having a ton of fun driving around Southern NM in a turbo diesel, 5 speed right hand drive truck with a bunch of stickers and labels that I don’t know what they actually say.
I’m slightly bummed it didn’t have one of the Japanese plates still on it, but I hear legitimate ones can be hard to come by on export vehicles.
Exploring all the quirks and features on it that are different than a US market vehicle had actually had me thinking about some of your articles.

Plates must be returned by law. If you keep them and are caught, you are in big trouble.
How is the MVD handling decades old RHD Pajero?

what happened to your old Honda?
![]() 03/03/2020 at 01:53 |

It just stopped running. No power whatsoever. Battery fully charged, didn’t respond to jumping. And too far from my mechanic to push it. I only paid $975 for the Logo. It just wasn’t worth investigating because the last part I replaced on it cost almost $300. I cut my losses.

fair enough then.
enjoy the new one

Keep Oppo Fit!
That’s an amazing deal, too. Almost $10k less than my 2013 was with similar miles.

I hit a snag on the VIN inspection for out of state vehicles. They were unable to deal with the fact the truck has the chassis number stamped to a plate on the firewall and absolutely nowhere else on it. Despite that being enough for customs, the NHSTA, the EPA, the state of Virginia and State Farm, it wasn't enough for NM. I’ve got an appointment for with a State Police auto theft detective for a higher level vin inspection in a couple of weeks.

Sad to see the Logo go, but happy to see the Fit as a replacement.
Odd note, I thought for sure it was called the Jazz in Japan as well, obviously I’m mistaken though and it’s the Fit there too.
