Jake has bad hondas so I don’t have to? but... then explain why I have so many bad hondas!

Which one gets better fuel economy? IIRC an HF CRX can get around 50 mpg’s.

Immediately made me think of this:
/who killed the EV1?

Jake - Finds a S tranger in the Alps

For a second I thought it was TBL.

dammit, beat me to it

….so you don’t have to.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. As long as the Alps give consent.

The crumply door skin makes the Insight look more like a NASA spacecraft than it did when Honda released it.

Insight was 60s. Which even today is stupid good

*buys gas once every two months

Honda should’ve made a non0-hybrid version of that Insight. It would’ve made for an awesome CRX.
Some people actually remove the hybrid shit after the battery
pack goes.

Seriously though , my commute is 3.5 miles each way and even at 60mpg and at ~22 workdays a month I would use ~2.5 Gallons a month...

They’re perfectly usable with the battery unhooked. Just... so slow. K swaps are super common, a few people have done D swaps. It’s a 1800lb hatchback, lots can be done.

Any chance you could bike that distance? Heck, you could almost do that comfortably on an electric scooter.

Yeah with the aero alone and the right engine I bet it gets good mpg. There was a sl eeper Spoon version I think. Honda should have a new version that is electric with a tiny engine for range anxiety. I still think at this point we need hybrids even if the engine is only for assist and recharging.

Geo metros could get 60 something I think, I drove a guy home from a party in one and it was slow, but it could be a hell of a commuter. The Car Talk brother loved them.

When i worked 3 miles from home I was ridding to work 3-4 days a week when the weather permitted.

My work commute would be $14/month in gas instead of the current $55

My current commute is about 15 km (each way, so 30 km round trip). I'm trying to figure out a cheaper way of doing it. A coworker and I have been car pooling, but he is moving, so I'll be on my own again. I've been thinking about an e-bike conversion, as the commute involves a very large river valley, and my knees aren't what they used to be.

With Winter and the cold/snow no but I do possibly seeing it more in the summer (less than a year with the company) . Only problem is there are no sidewalks or bike paths as its very industrial with traffic being 50:50 car to semi. So that makes me nervous.

Great now I want one and I can’t understand why. Good thing I am too broke and already have a broken car in my driveway.

I didn’t know that Nash made a hybrid,

At 10 miles each way I think an E-bike would be a great choice. That’s just far enough that you will get fatigued if you do it every day.

He -really- needs a CRZ to complete the set
