I bet Tesla could have saved themselves a lot of work on the Falcon doors by just using sliders like this to get the same opening.

I think the reason they didn’t is because people think”sliding doors = minivan”. The Model X is more of a fashion accessory than practical family hauler.

That said, I'd still drive one if the price were right. And I'd totally commute in that Daihatsu.

But Why?

Why bother with the inherent imbalance, two cylinder heads, more valves, TINY little valvetrain, and all the other complications of a V-engine with 6 cylinders and 24 valves, for only 1 liter?

And then turbocharge it for more power?
