They’ll all be hooned to death before I can, but still, it’d be cool.

On the plus side, I have a ten year head start over the Americans.

lefthandutes.com lets you import and convert in the USA. I wonder if they would be allowed in Canada.

Canada ? If so I will pay you to garage one for me for ten years. (lol jk I wish I had that kind of money )

You can get one now.
You’ll just pay through the nose.

Why wait?
This is a 2001 VU model with the 5.7 V8, 5 spd manual gearbox and just 33,700 km on the clock. AU $20, 000.
Or there’s this 2004 VY II ute, again V8 and 6 spd manual but with 95,500 km...AU$26,500
There’s many more if you want to put up with the V6 and the auto.
And there’s also the rarer Ford option too. Even a lifted one known as the RTV...straight six and auto only but it's a dirt road weapon par excellence.

Dirt road weapon, you say?

That was my experience. They’ve got a locking rear diff too that works at less than 15 km/h...very useful for off track crawling.
They are quite cheap these days. Just saw a 2004 version on Carsales for under 9 grand with only 140,000 km on the clock.
