I have a carbon fiber bow for my violin. I tried a bunch blind and picked it out pretty consistently with even more expensive wood bows. Not sure the difference but it feels nice playing and responds well to different articulations.

My SG has a carbon fiber pickguard for added lightness. Made it myself about 15 years ago. Didn’t help me play better. Or faster. But a few people have told me it looks cool at least.
