Just go through the one foot spots. Cruised by a few stuck vehicles in town today. Looking forward to the snow plow/tractor to get rid of the snowbanks through town.

That's the eventual plan, though winter tires and momentum help.

Momentum is a crucial part of snow driving.

Or, hit the 1.5 foot spots with lots of speed, at a 45 degree angle, and your foot on the gas.
So you don’t get stuck of course.

Last winter I was plowing through 1.5'+ banks just to get on the interstate with the van.
Only to find out the interstate had one lane that had been plowed hours before, the other 2 were completely untouched.
I was the only one driving in the untouched lanes.

Skiers love virgin powder, so why not drivers too??

The unplowed lane was much easier than the packed/tracked/slushed lane everyone was driving in.
I was able to cruise comfortably around 30 mph while everyone else crawled at 15 mph trying to keep it on the road.

This was my exact thought. Have yet to find snow that the Outback gets stuck in

*laughs at minivan in 4x4 truck*
And now we wait for some Canadian or Scandinavian oppo with a snowcat to come along...
![]() 02/03/2020 at 16:49 |

it is also the worst part....
![]() 02/03/2020 at 16:49 |

Yeah, tramlining can be really bad when the lane is slushy.
None of that in fresh snow.

.4572 meters! 45.72 centimeters!
What sort of Canadian are you, a Torontan?

I forgot about the Russians.

At least I can spell Torontonian.

Once had my Outback burried up to the axles in wet march snow in the yard of my parents house with a rally car buried up to it’s skid plates on the end of a tow strap behind it and it pulled it out of there like a champ.

I went through a foot and a half snowbank blocking my car at work last year. It was small peanuts. :p

Does “ T.O’ed” count as a correct spelling? :P

Cast further doubts at your own peril. :)

Ha, the last big snow we had around he I was passing the 4X4 truck guys like they were standing still. 4x4 means nothing when they’re on highway tires.

Neighbor got stuck in the plowed mound at the end of her driveway.

What did she have for tires?

Cooper CS I believe, didn’t look that close.
Felt good pulling her out with the van though.

Like my Forester is very different than a lifted minivan.

Very true. Around here, it's 75% actual offroader with A/Ts or muds, and only 25% mallcrawler with dubs and rubber bands, thankfully.

So all seasons

Can’t blame all-seasons, the new van plowed through the mound without issue and it’s fwd on all seasons!
