At the twisty Laguna Seca circuit in 1971, the Lola T260 was given a giant nose wing in hopes of finding the front-end grip it still lacked. Initially, Jackie Stewart in this Lola was scored the winner after Peter Revson was penalized for ignoring black flags, but the officials reversed themselves and Revson—who’d crossed the line first—was restored as the victor.
