After the FP post on the demise of oppo it drove a lot of folks back here that’d been absent I think and we got a big bump in signups and traffic.
I took this at 2230 PST before I laid down and we had 61 (two people signed up after I took the screenshot ) new users register on Wednesday and our page views were up over 17k!
On the forum I’m seeing both a bunch of people that had been dormant for a while as well as new folks, even a few Oppo lurkers came out and posted to introduce themselves. It’s been great so far.
There is still the sign-in issue that’ll pop up every now and again but it’s down to like 1/20 times instead of 1/5 times in my testing after some I made some config changes . Now it seems to be a mismatch between a presented cookie and the SSL cert on the device. Working on permanently solving it, but it is much better than before.
At any rate oppo, thanks. The new look is working pretty well for almost everyone with a shrinking amount of tweaks on the top of peoples request list.
If you have any feedback, let me know. We’ll get through this together Oppo!

You’re a machine.

Could simply be that you need to force redirect http to https as cookies made on https can’t be use on http on the same domain.

I did that last night - that’s what helped, but didn’t 100% solve it.

The site has really handled the increased traffic well. I haven't had any performance issues or lag during peak times.

When I try to register I’m getting two errors:
On Chrome: “ Registration Error
We were unable to log you in, likely due to an expired session. Please try again”
On Edge: “Forbidden”
Any thoughts?

That’s the biggest right now - try disabling your ad blocker. I’ll clear the login cache and in a minute or two it should le you in.

Will do, thanks!

I was able to get it to work in Firefox.

Yeah, it’s done very well. Only issue still is the occasional login crapout. Working on the fucker - but it’s a slippery bug.

Also let me know if you want to take a look at the nginx config files and make sure I haven’t done anything stupid. I’m an apache guy mostly and not even that in a couple years on a daily basis.

I do notice that the top of the screen gets a little crowded on smaller mobile screens. I think if you could downsize the Oppo banner just a little bit it might help a good deal.

Yeah, someone’s going to send me a vector image of that guy so it’ll look a little cleaner and I’ll resize it down to help. I’m with you, it’s about 10 pixels too tall

Try deleting the cookies that the site stored on your browser. I just ran into that error myself and fixed it just by deleting the two cookies I had. I had no problems afterwards.

You’re a champ for this, btw.

Good. Also think it could use some white space at the top so it doesn’t look like the Ford logo in commercials (I don’t like that graphic trend)

Thanks - doing what I can right now. Seems to definitely be gaining solid traction

I would love to know how I can help and contribute to the community.

Thank you!
I did just make a post about how things are going and what the future (hopefully) looks like for Oppo.

Right now though sign up, and engage. That’s the most important thing.
*if you have sign in/registration issues try disabling ad blocker and trying again in a few minutes. Working on that problem.
