Yep, it’s a Jeep. Except for the gas mileage: it’s a 50% improvement on my LJ! From 12-13mpg to 18 is quite a leap.

It’s less about the money and more about the range. So nice to not have to stop 5 times in a day.

Yes, I know it doesn’t take a Jeep to make this crossing. Still, it’s a Jeep.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I met Pat and his 1946 CJ-2A when I had stopped to take some photos; he didn’t mind me yelling at him to get him to stop so I could admire it.

He restored it over about 5 years and it’s a beauty. Still has the classic Go-Devil engine.

Other random vehicles. Missed shots of so many Jeeps. Was a beautiful day.

And the obligatory road shots. The white hood doesn’t carry quite the same punch as my yellow fender.

There aren’t many places in Indiana to get a shot like this, so I have to grab them when I find one.

What a fitting point in time for you to finally see the end of the tunnel.

Love the CJ’s seatcovers with the “airbag” label - who knew Willys was so forward thinking?! . Also, I wonder what that big ol’ scale is for (in the passenger footwell).

H e mentioned he was caretaker for a large property in the area; in fact he was on the way there, so I suspect it was related to that.

200 kg capacity - maybe for weighing deer?

Quite possibly. Deer firearms season starts next weekend, although I heard a suspicious number of shots today.

I stopped at a cemetery to get my bearings; while I was wandering someone started shooting about 200’ away . Quite disconcerting.

One of the few downsides of fall, in places that have 4 distinct seasons . Wearing a blaze orange vest & hat didn’t always feel like it was enough for safe fall woods wandering; there we re always dummies out there willing to take a pot shot at noise in the distance.
