If Oppo-xodus happens, might I suggest DriveTribe?

There has always been the fear of Oppositelock going away, seems those fears have been reignited .

I freelance for DriveTribe and we have quite a nice community. Being someone who has been an Oppo since like 2015-16ish I can vouch for the community. If you don’t know, DriveTribe is that sight you heard of that Clarkson, Hammond, and May started up.

Seems like someone else already made a Tribe there for Oppositelock.

The front page turns me away because even on my huge iPad Pro I only see one post, and there’s no indication of when it was created. Kinja has spoiled me.

I have an account there, but I’m not sure if I can even log in anymore.

Plus the fact that it prioritizes “hot” over “new”. I don’t like streams that try to pick what I want to see.

These things also annoys me.

About the time/age of the posts, i quickly checked if it could be easily added with a TamperMonkey script and it doesn’t seem to be (except by loading the post pages and extracting the timestamp which is not ideal but there might be an API or RSS feed that can help extract only the post list and timestamp (or similar) but i have no clue if it’s the case .

Really? I thought DT to be a very clean FP. Versus the Ad, Ad, Ad, Article, Ad, Ad, Ad, Ad

that is just the front page, where hot stuff should be prioritized. if you click on a Tribe like the Oppo one, you can simply click “ New” .

It’s clean but not very ergonomic i would say, having only 2 articles per page when scrolling is a bit annoying and not having the dates or age of the post even more. .

If you compare DT to Oppo, though, the difference is dramatic. It’s as if every Oppo post were embiggened.

I don't know much about DriveTribe, but I will go wherever the bulk of OPPO goes so as to recreate the experience on here as closely as possible.

To put that in perspective, the last 20 posts have been posted in the last 2 h20, there has been 8 pages (and thus around 20*8 = 160 ) of articles posted in the last 24 hours.

That would be a  lot of scrolling with only 2 posts displayed per “screen”, around 80 screens to scroll to check what happened on the last 24h.

Yeah but on DriveTribe, a great post will be praised and not hidden pages deep like it was here.

Take this from a guy who probably 1 out of every 3 things I post make the popular Oppo sidebar, it sucks. I see so much work people put their hearts in here and get it gets buried fast and never seen .

^ What Danny said. DT has excellent support and a solid community. It’s a bit confusing at first, but that means you’ll explore a bit before you get the hang of it.
