To make the story even better: when presenting the plans for this terminal station (aka a tail station) to the people living in that neighbourhood, the architect jokingly drew fishtail to make clear that this would be the tail of the line. When the people saw that the final plans didn’t include a fishtail they asked him what happened, so he designed these sculptures to satisfy those people. He also saw it as a sort of reinbursement to them for losing the open space.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Because who needs chock absorbing stops at the end of the line when you could just put a giant whale tail there.

You can actually see the buffer stops on the other tracks, which makes it all the more incredible that the train got that far. Either the buffer stops were seriously underdimensioned or/and the train was going way too fast.

Yeah, I posted this in the other post, but clearly something went very wrong for it to get that far, since they were (at least during the most recent satellite pass) set up to stop the train with multiple barriers :

Especially because that seems to be a maintenance or parking track, the final passenger stop is half a kilometer earlier.

My brain glitched out upon seeing this. Took me some time to actually believe it happened.
