Yes, you can fit 3 child seats in a Focus RS:

3 is twice as many as 1.5

I will keep the RS for now, but if we have any more kids in the future I plan on going the wagon route. Preferably the V70R, but that’s a decision that may never be needed or won’t be made for at least another couple years.

Cute kid.

This is where the Focus ST 2.3 EcoBoost 276bhp estate would be great.

nice. I’ve been doing school drop off with my 3 boys in the BRZ since the oldest was 6. He fit in the front passenger seat with a side-protection-booster seat (w/the winged headrest). The younger 2 were both in front facing latch type car seats by then. (6yo, 5yo, 3yo).

It’s been 2 years now, and I don’t really see any reason for getting that V90XC or that alltrack I’ve been eyeing... everytime I go to costco with the kids, our shopping fits in the trunk.

The wife has the 3 row QX60 for full family-of-5 trips.

Edit: I had to survive for a short while on my mother-in-law’s TSX while at least one kid was still rear facing....

Oh, Ford of Europe and your forbidden fruit.  That would be perfect!

Ha ha ha, our other vehicle is a Honda Odyssey so I guess there’s always room for another minivan in the garage.

So you’re telling me there’s always a spot for the fun “practical” car?  I appreciate the insight and experience as it may come in handy down the road!

I hear you there. At one point, my daily driver was an NA Miata, and the family car was a Sedona. We have an Odyssey now, but if the Durango SRT had 7 seats, I’d do S ome T hings to have one in the driveway...

Funny you mention them, by the time we had our first kid (Summer 2017) Recaro had pulled out of the child safety market in the US. We couldn’t find any Recaro brand seats for her and it was driving me crazy.  Then  we found out they stopped selling in the US market due to a legal fight with regulators regarding a potential recall earlier in 2017.  It was disappointing, to say the least.  I wanted matching child seats!

I thought of racing child seats for a joke, went searching google, and lo and behold there they were! Being kidless myself, i had no idea they were actually a thing
