I starred someone’s ancient post last night...
I’m guessing this one got linked to from Jason’s post on the Changli build evaluation, bringing some people there.

Someone recently saved a comment of mine, from 2011.
Which if we follow that link, brings us here.

I get stars on really old comments surprisingly frequently.

‘Member when you could see what post/comment someone recommended right in your notifications?

Yeah, that’s how it happens.
So, did you realize you were starring an ancient post before you did it?

Pretty old. I wasn’t here that long ago.

I haven’t had any for a while. They come up when the FP reposts an old article or a link to one.

Yeah, and I miss that. And also being able to follow the full list of who starred a post.

Sort of. I wasn’t initially aware I was in an old post, but I was like whatever, they still get a star.

Everything since St Patricks Day, 2020 is just ‘before time’.
Those posts m ay have been this last January, may have been the summer of 2002. Who knows. Those times are wrapped in an old blanket now.
Welcome to the future! Kinja, Covid, and the insects will always survive!

Those do seem to cause a lot more, but some are just articles that apparently come up in searches.

I’ve done that too.

I kept saving it as I got more stars and using it to try to convince them to bring it back.
And they finally
did! For a while, anyway.
