I know there are some skiers on here... I’m looking for an airbag pack for backcountry skiing. Any recom mendations? Seems that the main choices are (1) volume and (2) inflation technology. I’m looking for 30 to 35L and leaning towards the electri cally powered fan for inflation... not 100% commit ted to either though.

I always worry about airbags providing a false sense of security, make sure you are well trained on snow science and remember a higher percentage of avy deaths are trauma than suffocation.

Absolutely , thanks for the reminder. I have a few friends that I go out with, that I trust absolutely. We all practice snow reading and avv y rescue. Just looking for an additional line of security :)

Only a very few professional skiers I know use airbags. I think they are cost prohibitive for most ski bums.
