I had to literally debug a system.
Yes, this little guy kept it from working.

Isn’t the term debugging actually from people pulling bugs out of machines?
Taking the literal interpretation is always a pleasure.

Sounds like my barn. Some type of little ants enjoy building colonies in electrical switches. A quick blast from the air compressor normally solves it for the day... damn ants. Stink bugs flock to my breaker box too but so far they haven’t caused any shorts.

That must be on a pretty small fuse or breaker for that fly to trip it!

It is. Moth flew into one of the early computers, and had to be removed.

About 10 years ago in August when I was living in South Texas with an 8 month pregnant wife my AC suddenly stopped working. The compressor just wouldn’t kick on. Being as it was 100 degrees out and I had one very upset wife I called the first available repair guy figuring I’d was going to be in for a few thousand dollars of repairs. Turned out a bunch of ants had built a nest in the outside relay and a pile of dead ant carcasses were keeping it from making contact when it got the signal from the thermostat. Ended up just paying for a $130 service call and another $100 for a relay and install.
