is that a longer wheelbase, with shorter bed? Proportions are interesting. Probably tows better with the shorter overhang actually

Yups, bed shortened only aft of the rear axle. Strange little thing but I.... like.. it? I’m so torn!

I’m not saying that this is a good reason to chop the truck like that. However, I could see somebody planning to use it only for towing who might think it better balances the weight over the rear axle. It may be that they put too much of the load towards the front of the trailer, increasing the tongue weight too much . This could be the way they tried to solve that problem.

I have seen this style of cut before on a few trucks. I have heard rumors that this was done by a company when the the trucks were new for a specific purpose, but I dont think much of it. It would definitely be the easier place to shorten the truck.
My grandfather in the 80s did the opposite and shortened one only in the front and had it match the length from wheel well center back. Was an odd looking truck as well.

This is a longbed that they shortened but took the ~foot out of the back instead of the middle? It’s strangely okay.

interesting - sort of like that “camper special” that Ford did, but Chevy and a little wonky.

I’m...not a fan...I don’t think it looks right at all, or very good...and more importantly, why?!
W
ho buys a vehicle and then says you know what, I would like this to be shorter, and then just loves the section of the back off???
