Time for a cold one. Got any big plans for the weekend?

We’re volunteering at the Food Bank again, and I’m having a new fence installed, part of the long and seemingly never-ending backyard remodeling project. But that’s another story. ASO is recording their Halloween children’s concert for electronic distribution. I get to go downtown to rehearse and record for the two minutes I’ll actually be playing. It’s all good, I guess, since I get paid by the service and not the hour.

Y’all have a good weekend!

I’m going to be working around the house, trying to get caught up on some chores and such, nothing too crazy . But someone is coming tomorrow to make the final measurements for my new garage doors, so that’s exciting.

It was about 82 here today. Though there is a cold front coming through right now.

I imagine the precision will go downwards as the evening progresses.

Well, good luck. If I were to do that, it would end up looking exactly like the mockup.

Snowing here, cold all weekend, staying in - will complete my ballot and finish unpacking/setting up the new place.

Like PowderHound said, its going to be BFC here, so probably nothing much. Halloween stuff maybe.

I was hoping to get out there and take some more photos. I’ve singled out a couple more places in town that are picture worthy, but looks like it’s gonna be cloudy all weekend... Still, rain or shine,  there are a few things I’m looking forward to trying out, so I’ll probably go shoot one way or another.

Enjoying a margarita at the local outdoor watering hole.

It’s going to be perfect this weekend. I’m going to try and get the horn working on the Mini and I’m going to get the Escort LeMons car ready for sale or recycling.

I don’t find much time to get out to the airport any more to take plane photos, so I have to go when I can. Last year, I went down on a day that the weather just sucked. Rather than pack it in, I took advantage of the conditions to see just what I could accomplish. The results aren’t fantastic, but I learned a lot. Mostly what I learned was that I need  a camera with better ISO performance.

Nice. I think it might be time for me to go crack a cold one, and pour one for my wife as well. She needs to stop working. It’s Friday. This is always a really busy time for her anyway, but with WFH she’s online more than she ever was before.

Have a great weekend.

I’m finally taking a vacation next week. Not going anywhere, but getting some stuff down around the house, and throwing parts at my car as well.

I’m really looking forward to Halloween, as it looks like we might have decent weather on Saturday.

That’s a real problem. I finally had to say screw it and shut down.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the beverage with your wife.

It might actually be chilly here on Halloween. It’s usually in the mid-80s. I expect we will have trick or treaters, and I plan to give out candy.

I hear ya... since I shoot analog, I’m stuck at either 400 or 160 ISO, so the idea is to practice composing in variable conditions. For example, there is a parking lot where I’m going tomorrow which was built on the carcass of what used to function as a theatre, but the building wasn’t completely demolished, ju st enough that the crumbling structure won’t collapse in on itself... or so I hope. Anyways, looking on straight, it’s your typical zebra striped parking lot fare, but if you look up and around, you can still see the arches, and where the balconies stood, and some of the original flooring, stained with oil and tire marks. It's urban decay at its prime, it's naturally grayish, so lack of sun won't really affect the composition, and if you can get a really bright car parked at the right spot, it should make for an interesting shot.

We finally submitted our latest round of funding applications, so now I get a weekend where I  don’t have to work or worry about work. I can focus on home projects as long as the rain stops tonight. It shall be a glorious weekend filled with nothing if I’m lucky.

I was google searching some of the advertisements on the bar wall and came across something titled Raceland Bar Russel Lee. Raceland, Louisiana is the town listed on the L.A. Borne Horses, Mules and Cattle poster on the wall.

I thought that looked like an FSA photo. The photographer, Russell Lee, also took this extraordinary photograph.
