This ant is working harder to feed its colony than I’ve worked a single day this year. Or most years.
(This was taken about 20’ from the nearest patch of earth. No idea how much farther than that the ant ended up dragging it.)

Food can be a strong motivator.
I’ve heard if you need a bunch of doctors to show up for a meeting, offer free pizza. Even they aren't immune to being attracted by free food.

That’s about how I felt towing a mid-sized pickup truck with a 400(?) pound driver a few years ago. Big guy, went by “Fats”; he was stranded in the middle of a busy road so I risked life and frame to pull him a few blocks to a gas station where he could wait for a tow.
