L
ancia Ypsilon from France. What it’s doing here is unknown as travel restrictions mean few tourists. It’s the last survivor of the Lancia marque and is only sold in Italy now.

It’s the ancestor to the Ypsilon, the Lancia Y that was not only sold in Italy.

Wasn’t it renamed to Ypsilon in later years? I always loved these...especially in that cool shade of yellow they came in!

Vraiment? I had tho
ught they used both Y and Ypsilon names but as that model wasn’t sold here (we got a handful of the current model with Chrysler badging) I wouldn’t know.

The Ypsilon is still a big seller in Italy, which is the only market where it’s still available, I believe. Last year it was Italy’s second best-selling car behind the Panda.

I think they’re pretty neat-looking little cars too, if obviously pretty dated by now. But if it sells, no reason to stop making it, surely the tooling has been long since paid for.

You might be right, there are still some around here (not much) but the newer Ypislons that were also sold as Chrysler have never been sold here.

hd only I’m afraid! We got a few dozen of the Chrysler version on
which FCA spent silly amounts of money tooling up for RHD.
