I’ve been looking at this after Bradley’s article last night . The numbers stand out, but the pictures raise questions.

The pack looks small, like 2kWh small. That matches the charge times, but not the range, unless you’re at a walking pace. The suspension also looks a little light for the task.

On the other hand, t he duel hand brakes are probably a good idea for a mostly off road vehicle (punny). Also, swappable batteries when you could find yourself in the wild is a nice feature.

Yeah I can’t imagine that it’s very fast. Those are some big meats to spin.

I think it looks like a slightly bigger Coleman minibike, or a slightly smaller Rokon.

Which means it probably has a low top speed, and that’s perfectly fine for the types of riding it was meant for.

As long as you keep up on charging it, you’d have an ATV alternative that doesn’t run out of gas, won’t be difficult to start, and could easily fit in the back of a truck.  Sounds great for a farm or acreage runabout.

Here’s another alternative that looks pretty neat :

T hey’re publishing 0-60 times, so it must have enough grunt to get there. I’m beginning to think they are non overlapping specs, like a 1 or 2 battery, or even 1 or 2 or 3 battery representation.

1 battery - 2 hr charge and $6k

0-60 times and range, more battery and cost.

That would make sense, the Tesla model of advertising.

It could be interesting if they use the “swappable battery” method, but have a mounting and connection for 2 or more batteries and can “swap” with a mode selector . 1 battery gives a lower top speed and range, but leaves the other battery full for additional capacity to “swap in” later . 2 battery mode could give the full top speed and full power ratings, but without the “battery swap” method.

It might not be as clever as I think it is, but it is a possible scenario.

I’ve got a Zero FXS, and it has the battery swap capability. 1 3.3kWh battery, you get less HP, less range. 2 3.3kWh batteries, full range and power. It isn’t a selection, the BMS auto detects.

B u t swappable is a little bit of a stretch, as each battery is ~40 pounds and $2k.

Figures that it would already be in use if it was a good idea.

Side note, that Zero FXS looks like a fun bike. I’ve tried and left the motorcycle world, but a supermoto is the one thing that tempts me to coming back.

With those tires and that range, I’m guessing you could jog faster than this thing. I’ll take the Hummer and stick my Yamaha in the back.
