The ramen supply at my grocery store still has not recovered from the Great Lockdown.

Oh, headed into the election I’d expect the water, toilet paper, canned goods and 9mm ammo to all be in short supply.
Buy early, buy often. Exactly how we vote.

What are you going to stop with 9mm a bug?
Invest in Winchester .308

darn. I was craving ramen lately and was going to head in and get some.

*Looks at lunch box*
Well, I certainly don’t have it. No siree, not me, no ramen here. Move along.

My grocery store puts the “good” ramen in the Asian food section, away from the super cheap brands. Have a look there.

My kids like the cheap stuff, specifically the Maruchan chicken flavor. They like to eat it raw out of the package.

Most Asian markets have it still (not sure if that is still the case, but it was at the beginning of all this crap )

I just bought some yesterday. They haven’t had the chili version the past few times but chicken is fine too I guess

Guarantee the kinds of people who are stocking up now are the same kinds of people who make fun of “preppers” in normal times. Real preppers buy their ramen and canned beans well in advance.
The Karens who are emptying the shelves right now are in for a rude awakening when they taste canned beans for the first time.

Bruh you haven’t been able to buy 9mm forth months and if you can find it, it’s over $1.50 per round.

I don’t think this is a hoarding issue, but more of a supply issue. It’s been like this since the beginning of the pandemic. Unless people are buying it all up to feed their kids who are at home for school.

I was looking at the ammo shelves in our local sporting goods store. EMPTY except for some 12 gauge and other ammo that’s not very common.

Broaden your pa la te and try MAMA. You will never eat Top Ramen ever again.

Or Korean Ramen:

Shelves full at my local Wally World. Have been for months. What’s never in is Thai Peanut Sauce!
As an alternative preparation : Use 1/3 of the flavor packet, a good dash of dried granulated onion and a little dash of Mrs Dash and garlic. Then just before the water goes in, pour a teaspoon ful or more of sesame oil over the dry noodles. I use too much water for extra broth.

The JDM variants of Nissin noodles are the bomb.
They are like a Nissin Versa and Nissin Skyline difference.

Our toilet paper supplies have long since re covered but over the last few weeks I’ve seen a trend where paper towel is becoming very scarce. I haven't seen a Lysol wipe since May or June.

Nissin is a budget brand? Clearly you’ve never tried No Name. :P
(It’s a Canadian store brand. Usually $0.25/package (so that’s like... $0.19 a package. This week it’s on for $0.10. I’m sure it’s already been cleaned out at that price).

This is a grocery store pro tip near me too. The good stuff isn’t with the Mr. Noodles

Damn, yeah I think they’re $1 each. The big bowls are $2/3

Costco had a 5-pack of Lysol wipes, limit one. I got one, but the pallet was emptying quickly.

Most 90s Mazda enthusiasts. Hex head sizes are usually only 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, and 21mm.

It’s ebbed and flowed. Big 5's successor here in the Tucson area has generally kept stuff on the shelf.
Last I knew, though, sales records were still being set in California

Is 22LR still unavailable and ridiculously expensive, too? Might need more of that soon, if we’re reduced to hunting small animals for food now that the ramen is running out.

Had a little extra time this afternoon. Stopped at the local Target which looks like Soviet Russia. Oddly the Jewel usually pretty well stocked. Also, since the township office is near…

Got an Asian specialty market nearby? Around here, they’re chock full of ramen. Kroger is low like you described.

I put 3 categories.
1) karen who buys 4 packs of TP, A shitload of fresh veggies
2) people who stockpile regular cans and stuff
3) folks that buy buckets of some sort of powder.
I had a co worker to say he had interesting world views would be an understatement. Somewhere in the john birch neighborhood. We were making fun of the show preppers and h e was telling me how his parent have a 2 year supply. to which someone asked” have you ever tried it?” “what” “you just said they bought $ 4k of food.... did they every try it?” And that was a thought that I don’t believe had ever occured to him.
