I met him and his wife at his son’s graduation from college. It was pretty cool and h e was super friendly. His son, Dun can Jones, was the captain of the rugby team and I played with him for two years. Also a cool guy. Not as cool as the Thin White Duke, but cool.

David Bowie is cool as hell.

Fun-fact though: David Bowie was a proponent of a right-wing coup to overthrow the labour party in the UK in the 70's. He was a fascist.

Since learning this fact it has occasionally creeped into my mind when listening to him but it hasn’t colored my enjoyment of his music.

That’s a fair point, I had forgotten that . It almost seems like taking young men and giving them more money, power, drugs and adoration than they can shake a stick at turns them into monsters...

I’m from St Louis and it always bugs me how much we idolized Chuck Berry, even when he was caught several times with surveillance cameras in the restrooms of his restaurant. Yet it stayed open and him unpunished.

I wish I had seen him play. I probably spent five minutes around him, most of which was spent trying not to stare at Iman. It was pretty surreal. He had a cigarette in his mouth the entire time and was so obviously proud of his son.
