He should not be - we’re a bunch of bums!

Nor should he be, nor should he be...

If anyone should be impressed it should be us with him for that choosing that stylish hat and jacket combo.

That’s what I said when he gave me the finger. (It was his index finger, stuck up my nose...)

His Tía Robin picked it out.

Don’t I know it! I’ll be testing the network at my school site on Thursday afternoon to see if F@h can get out and in like it needs to in order to fold. If so, I’ll probably leave a dedicated 1080 ti card there folding full time, unless there’s another one that makes more sense.

Thanks. You can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your grandfather.

He is waayyyyyyy more stylish than me.
Granted, that’s a low bar, but he’s looking good!

What a cutie... Crazy to think Mrs. addiction and I might have one of those stumbling around in another 10 years .
Just f
or your consideration, because I overthink these kind of things
(pervasive, powerful
face recognition makes the digital world a crazy place...

I share pictures of my kids on Facebook (where I have some control over who gets to see them), but I now generally ask them if it’ s okay before I do, and I still wonder if they’ll end up pissed at me at some point because of it.
There’s good and bad to everything, of course.

I take your point and thank you for your concern. My daughter is papering Facebook and Instagram with this kid’s face as it is...

Thank you, $kay. I have lots of cool toys he and I can play with including Chevron cars, toy school busses, wooden blocks, Legos, and more. Even though he’ll only be about five months old this Christmas, there’s going to be a train running ‘round the base of the Christmas tree...
And let me state for the record: these are not gender role defining activities. These are all toys that my daughters played with when they were small and they’re things that Daddy/Grandfather thinks are cool and if I had a grand daughter who also thought these toys were cool, all the better. (Just wanna put that out there because reasons...)

Yeah, if she’s already putting it everywhere, then much less of a concern.
I still do wonder what it will be like for these kids who have their whole personal history documented online. Watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix if you haven’t.

We could ask Brett Kavanaugh about that. Not that I think he ought to have been disqualified, but too bad for his family and his reputation now that he behaved the way he did, and ran with the crowds that he did, and made the choices that he did, when he was but a wee one. Nobody wants to talk about that.

I wasn’t an asshole like he apparently was, but I mad
e plenty of mistakes in HS/college that I’m quite glad aren’t documented... Interestingly, if I knew that there was a high likelihood that any stupid behavior I engaged in could be documented online forever, maybe I would’ve made better choices back then.

That’s all I’m saying. A lesson to young people, but they are so steeped in social media that it’s a largely hopeless cause, IMO.

My oldest is 13, and he has no access to social media yet. Maybe when he’s 16? Maybe when he’s 18, like other addictive substances? I don’t know...
It is interesting to me to hear the younger generation’s perception of online privacy. Many are not concerned about it at all, and see it as just a fact of life. I still try to maintain as much personal privacy as I can, despite being very “plugged in” and far from a Luddite/technophobe.

My wife has an iPhone that tells her when it’s time to go to bed. The phone decided of its own volition to tell her that. She is amused. I am mildly horrified.

Ha! Does she follow its direction?
